Bendy plywood, also known as flexible or flexi plywood, is a specialized, lightweight plywood designed to bend easily into curved shapes without breaking, making it ideal for furniture, shop fittings, and curved wall paneling. Unlike traditional plywoods like Falcata or HW core, which prioritize strength or weight, bendy plywood’s unique construction – using veneers aligned in the same direction – allows exceptional flexibility in either long-grain or short-grain orientations.

Long-grain bendy plywood bends along its long edge, with the grain of the outermost plies running parallel to the long side, suitable for applications like curved columns. Short-grain bendy plywood bends along its short edge, with grain aligned parallel to the short side, ideal for tighter curves or horizontal applications. Compared to standard plywoods, bendy plywood is less rigid, non-structural, and more pliable, but it may lack the durability of denser plywoods for heavy-duty uses.
